“Recycled and quotidian materials  are gestures of adjustment that Senft seems to have acquired from her border experiences.  Born in Germany near the Iron Curtain and emigrating to London, Brazil and the USA as a young adult, she had to adapt language, customs and cultural codes. She was inescapably transformed by the unending process of migration and her work speaks to this day of it. She is mixing and breaking the hierarchy of materials in the class ridden art world of race, class, gold and trash to address the impact we have on the world around us.”
